FSACCI NEWSLETTER - September 2017

Although differences are not, by themselves, an issue, not respecting such differences in a multi-cultural society, is! Our differences are something we have to be proud of, something we have to respect. They contribute to the wealth and health of our country and our daily lives. That’s the idea we promote at the French (and) South African Chamber, especially on Heritage Day. With over one-third of our 170 members being non-French nationals and so many South African citizens attending our events on behalf of French companies, the Chamber takes pride in its diversity and the diversity of people who attend its events and workshops.
As a Chamber, we welcome and encourage French companies to live up to, and respect, the Heritage Day message and help their French employees to better understand South Africa, its culture and its diversity. I trust that the newcomers, who have discovered the meaning of Ubuntu by attending our September Business Culture workshop, will strive to live up to its meaning!
We also are very proud to create a dialogue between South African and French business people and professionals whatever the nationality of the companies they represent.
I take this opportunity to greet our new members: Euler Hermes, Positive Planet, Lexa Leio and The African Story Teller. Three French Companies and a South African one. One French blue-chip, one NGO and two SMEs. By joining our network, they demonstrate that together, we can all work better, despite our many cultural diversities. Welcome!

FSACCI Awards and Annual Gala - March 15th

FSACCI decided to change the format of its annual gala. Our smartest and greatest event of the year had to be more connected to your agenda, to show better your dynamism in South Africa and to award those who take part in South African growth. For all these reasons, we decided to create FSACCI Awards in order to highlight our business community at our annual gala, in the presence of South African well-known personalities, on the 15th of March 2018.

Web directory in the pipeline
FSACCI invested in a new software in order to propose you  a new system of online directory. You will soon receceive new passwords, be able to edit your page by yourself and add new contacts. You will also have access to updated contacts of our members. This new web directory is, for the moment, in the pipeline. Texts and logos presenting each company had been shortened and damaged during the software updating. As FSACCI, we apologise for this transitional inconvenience. We promise that it will soon be worth it!

FSACCI run for hope with Four Seasons.

FSACCI Team, Board members (Denis Simonin @Saint-Gobain, Alexandre Vaillant @Fasken Martineau) and friends took part in the second annual Westcliff Run For Hope, benefiting CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA and organized by our Gold Member Four Seasons. A few FSACCI Members, such as poinpoint one Human Resources, joined us for this charity run, encouraged by Four Seasons speaker, FSACCI Secretary Franck Deroche.

We look forward to seeing you at next year's event!
